Continuous Improvement Technician – Arlington, WA

Pay: $30–$45/hr. | Excellent Benefits

We are currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Technician to join the growing team at Newell Corporation, where precision, innovation, and craftsmanship come together to build something great.

What You’ll Do:

As a Continuous Improvement Technician, you will be responsible for implementing process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing methodologies. This is a hands-on role that includes process analysis and optimization to minimize downtime, improve productivity, and support overall operational excellence.

You will:

  • Study current workflows, conduct time studies, and analyze data to identify inefficiencies and waste, using lean
  • Actively participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts, using tools PDCA, 5 whys, etc. to find root causes and implement solutions.
  • Design, build, and implement improvements, such as new material racks, workstations, or process flows. This can also involve making modifications to existing structures and tools.
  • Train employees in new processes and procedures, document best practices by writing or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and help create training materials.
  • Work closely with various teams, including production, maintenance, project managers, and engineering, to gather input and implement changes effectively.
  • Track the progress of continuous improvement projects, update stakeholders on status, and alert management to potential delays.
  • Ensure that all improvements maintain or enhance safety and quality standards throughout the process.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in lean methodologies and process improvement within a manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement principles, Lean Manufacturing, and methodologies like 5S
  • Technical and hands-on skills for building and modifying structures, using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, and understanding basic dimensions and drawings
  • Analytical thinking and a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Project management skills to help lead and execute improvement initiatives
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills are crucial
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, CAD)
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands:

Lifting or moving objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Pushing, pulling, and bending. Standing and/or walking for 8 or more hours per day.
