Newell Corporation is hiring a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to join our growing team in Arlington, WA.

 

What You’ll Do:

As a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI), you will be responsible for ensuring welded products meet all applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.

 

You will:

• Inspect welds for compliance with AWS, ASME, ISO, customer, and internal specifications
• Verify Weldment fit-up accuracy and dimensions of fabricated weldments using basic measuring tools
• Interpret weld symbols, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
• Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ)
• Perform in-process and final weld inspections
• Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve welding issues
• Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability

 

What You Bring:

• AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification
• 5+ years of weld inspection experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications
• Proficiency with inspection tools and measuring equipment
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, manufacturing, industrial)
• Experience working within ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality systems
• Familiarity with NDT methods (MT, PT, UT) a plus
